So what's the difference between the systems that different companies use?
The best way to get your carpet clean is to employ the three cardinal rules of carpet cleaning.
1. Agitation: Mechanical or manual loosening of soil from fiber.
2. Emulsification: Chemical neutralization and suspension of soil.
3. Extraction: Removal of soil from carpet.
Rotary Brush Method?
With this system a shampoo is scrubbed into the carpet using a big brush. Some companies use optical brighteners and this makes the carpet appear bright and clean. This system makes no provision for dirt extraction. This system used by itself can be damaging to carpet.
Steam Method?
This is hot water shot into your carpet with strong chemicals then extracted. Drying time can take up to 24 hours or longer. Remember the longer it takes to dry, the more of a chance for re-soiling. This system has no provision for agitation alone. This system in combination with the Rotary Brush system works well, but can leave a carpet very wet.
Low Moisture Extraction System?
This system uses a machine to lay down a foam in front of the machine then a brush scrubs the foam into the carpet and suspends the dirt. Directly behind the brush is a powerful built-in vacuum which immediately extracts the dirt-laden foam as the machine is moved across the carpet in a forward pass.
Rotary Bonnet Method?
This system uses a rotary machine with a cloth pad dipped into a chemical which is then run over the surface of the carpet. This system will brighten the surface but can't remove the dirt deep in the pile. This is the cheapest way of "cleaning" and most carpet manufacturers will void all warranties if this system is used. SO WHERE DOES THE DIRT GO? They say by vacuuming after your cleaning - your vacuum is what picks up the dirt!
So which system does Delta use?
We at Delta believe that all systems can clean to some extent. However some systems will leave your carpet worst off after cleaning then before. The key is to get your carpet dry A.S.A.P. after cleaning. Imagine walking on a slightly damp carpet with dirty shoes, what do you have? A carpet that's already dirty again. Be assured that Delta will use the system that's right for your carpet.
We take into account many factors:
1. Residential or Commercial?
2. What type of carpet? and age?
3. How much traffic?
4. How fast can we get the carpet dry before the traffic begins? 5. How long between cleanings?
